For the Love of a Child 2006 DVD
Storyline!
Set against the backdrop of post-war social neglect, the film follows the inspiring beginnings of a charity founded by two actresses in 1959. With early support from U.S. military personnel stationed in Asia and later assistance from supporters in the United States, they create a safe haven for mixed-race children who are often abandoned or treated as outcasts.
Their efforts eventually grow into Childhelp, an organization dedicated to rescuing and caring for abused and neglected children. One of the children taken in is Jacob Fletcher, a bright but deeply traumatized boy who has suffered severe emotional abuse at the hands of his stepfather.
At the rehabilitation center, Jacob and other children begin a difficult journey of healing. Guided by compassionate caregivers and supported through therapeutic programs—including animal-assisted therapy on a former farm they slowly begin to rebuild their sense of trust, safety, and hope.
