Storyline!

Laura 1944, Detective Lieutenant. Mark McPherson (Dana Andrews) investigates the murder of Laura Hunt (Gene Tierney), who is found dead in her home before the film begins. McPherson creates a mental image of the dead woman based on the suspects he interviews. A bright painting of the late Laura, which hangs on the wall of his apartment, helps him in this. But who would want to kill a woman who seems to fall in love with every man she meets? To make matters worse, McPherson also falls under his spell. Then one night, in the middle of the trial, something really strange happened that made him rethink the whole thing.
