Storyline!

Max Headroom 1985, In an apocalyptic future where televisions are more important than food, television ratings will be the country’s most important currency. New technology designed to stop channel surfers is particularly damaging to sedentary couch potatoes. The big studio is worried: the dead audience means low ratings. Edison Carter, the great news reporter, was sent to find out more. After a motorcycle accident, his spirit is protected by magician Bryce, who transforms into his smart, computer-generated alter ego: Max Headroom, who has scored more points than any other live host to date. It was made into a TV movie and then reshot as the first episode (reworked version) of the series.
