The Storyline of The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari 1920
The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari 1920 ,Francis, a young man, remembers the dreadful events that he and his fiancée Jane recently experienced. It is Holstenwall’s annual fair. Francis and his friend Alan go to The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, a museum where the mystery doctor introduces the somnambulist Cesare and wakes him up from his death-like coma for a few moments. Cesare responds to Alan’s question about his prospects.
Cesare tells Alan that he will die before dawn as Alan asks about his future. Alan is discovered dead the following morning. Francis accuses Cesare of murder and begins surveillance on him as well as Dr. Caligari. Cesare plans to stab Jane in her bed the next night, but he softens when he sees the pretty lady, and instead of killing her, he abducts her. Jane’s father awakens from his slumber.
Because of the noise, Jane’s father awakens, and he and a few servants pursue Cesare as he flees. Cesare can no longer outrun his pursuers, so he softly places Jane on the ground and flees.
