Storyline!
The Unbearable Lightness of Being 1988, Thomas is a doctor and assassin in 1960s Czechoslovakia, but he is indifferent to politics and falls in love with Teresa, a literal country girl. His more complicated lover Sabina eventually accepts their relationship and the two women form an electrifying friendship. The three become embroiled in the events of the Prague Spring (1968), when Soviet tanks destroy a non-violent rebel army. Their illusions are shattered and their lives are changed forever.
