Barfly 1987 DVD
Storyline!
The idea of having to become “something” in order to fit into the system disgusted Henry Chinaski, who had no interest in pursuing the American ideal. He thinks that you should live your life any way you see fit because it is your life, and if that sometimes entails drinking a lot of whiskeys, then so be it. In addition to drinking and listening to the radio throughout the day, Henry also fights Eddy at night because he believes that the latter personifies shallowness and blatant self-promotion. He occasionally finds the time to write a short story or a few lines of poetry in the midst of all of this. Henry is kicked out of the pub where Eddy works after fighting Eddy and winning for a change.
