Storyline!
1940, Algiers. Mama Titin has been living alone with her five children since her mean Jewish husband Joseph left for Paris with forged papers. Titin’s mother tries to hide that she has special concerns to ease her son Meyer’s childhood troubles. When financial problems and loneliness threaten to destroy her forever, she travels to occupied Paris to persuade Joseph to return. You can’t live in war-torn Algeria. Meyer is now growing. He has his first sexual experiences and tries his best to support his family. When Joseph returned home in 1945, Meyer, who had fought for de Gaulle at 18, went to France. There he studied medicine and became a famous surgeon.
