The Philadelphia Story 1940 DVD
Storyline!
The Philadelphia Story, Celebrities Tracey Lord, and S.K. Dexter Haven got married spontaneously; Both their marriage and divorce were emotional. They broke up when Dexter’s drinking became excessive, a mechanism to overcome Tracy’s unforgiving attitude towards Dexter’s shortcomings. Two years after their divorce, Tracy remarries in a ceremony at her family’s mansion. Her new fiance is nouveau riche businessman and aspiring politician George Kittredge, an otherwise ordinary man who adores Tracy. The day before the wedding, three unexpected guests arrive at the Lord’s mansion: Macaulay Connor (Mike’s friends) and Elizabeth Imprey – friends of Tracy’s absent brother Junius – and Dexter. He works for the tabloid Spy and arranges with Sidney Kidd’s editor and the editor to do a story about Tracy’s wedding – the wedding of the year – with photos of Tracy’s father so Kidd won’t publish the expensive story.
