Storyline!
Oklahoma Territory, where the soon-to-be state is experiencing social tensions between farmers and cowboys. At the heart of the story is Laurey Williams (played by Shirley Jones), a young woman caught in a love triangle between two very different suitors: the rugged and charismatic cowboy Curly McLain (played by Gordon MacRae) and the quiet, mysterious farmer Jud Fry (played by Rod Steiger).
